The disappearance of the Armchair Hobby-ist.

I can't find the charger to my Nikon, and I cant even recall what kind of Nikon I own. That's how long its been since I went out shooting pictures. From binge drinking to crazy night outs, now I just have tea and water my plants. They died though, and everytime they do I replace them with new ones. And now my maid has taken in the onus of doing the needful. How I love having such meaningful people in my life: maids, drivers, the guy who goes to pay up the bills, the guy who goes to deposit cheques, India when it comes to getting a guy-for-whatever-it-is-you-want is your guy.

My new hobby so to speak is sailing and boating. Not the kind where you have oars but the real thing: a motor boat, a sail boat, sails, tiller, a motor, you name it. Its fun. I have stepped out of being an armchair hobby-ist to actually being a hobby-ist.

So I tagged along with a friend for this boat rally to THIS PLACE, and although I rode pillion, played the role of navigator, which wasn't of much use to him, we ended up winning first place. Thats not too bad.

Here're some mobile snaps of the event, including one where another good friend and me stole a trophy before the event took off, thinking we might as well have it and feel good, just in case.

Cushioned in.

Although I did try using a new account to fill in on whats going on, I suppose my writing doesn't do justice until I come back to this one. Its been quite the journey, while sifting through cities, new lives, new people, new relationships, new bonds and an endless myriad of emotions and excitement.
Quite contrary to what I thought, my hometown brings me more complacency than I am willing to give credit for. The sense of colonial hangover that hovered around is gone. A sense of belonging has arrived.
Cochin being a cross between a toughened city and a growing town brings out a pizzazz that am well beginning to endure with grace.
Here's to new beginnings, more love, and being the quintessential armchair amorist that I forever am!
